What are Cluster and PEACE? |
Last Modified: 2010-02-25 16:23:42 |
A PEACE instrument is flying on each of the four Cluster spacecraft, which were launched in the summer of 2000. A Plasma Electron And Current Experiment instrument can measure the three dimensional velocity distribution of electrons in a space plasma, for an energy range from 1eV to 25 keV. The PI Institution for the PEACE instrument is the Mullard Space Science Laboratory, University College London, in the U.K.

What can this site do for me? |
Last Modified: 2010-02-25 16:23:14 |
This web site provides plots of data from the ESA-NASA Cluster mission to support data browsing and event selection. The Cluster-PEACE Team have provided high time resolution PEACE data from all four Cluster spacecraft for that purpose. With approval from the PEACE PI, PEACE data may also be downloaded from here. Furthermore, the web site and underlying system design is compatible with the addition of data from other Cluster instruments.
The guest user may produce plots for whatever time intervals they choose and we provide several plot design options. At present, spectrograms of PEACE data are available for each of the four satellites. In the future, more plot designs may be added. However, these plots are not for publication or presentation without PI approval. For this reason, they are "watermarked" with the text "not for publication". Given PI approval, a user can use this web site to produce plots without the watermark.
Given PI approval, you will also be able to download certain datasets in either ASCII, CDF, netCDF, or XML formats.
This web site was created by PEACE CoIs at SwRI and is hosted at SwRI. Much of the underlying data was created by the PEACE PI Team at MSSL, with assistance from CoIs at SwRI and BBR, and uses the IDFS system developed at SwRI. Questions concerning the data should be addressed to the PEACE PI Team.
Any questions regarding this web site should be directed to Joey Mukherjee.
